Aretha Franklin has given Billboard the scoop on her upcoming covers album.

The Queen of Soul says she's "more than happy" about the project.  Executive producer Clive Davis picked the songs -- subject to her approval.  She's spilled the beans on five of the songs to be featured on the album:

  • Barbra Streisand's "People"
  • Donna Summer's "Last Dance"
  • Gladys Knight's "Midnight Train to Georgia"
  • Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It"
  • Adele's "Rolling in the Deep"

There's no word on a title, but Aretha is pointing toward a September release for the album.
