The Four Seasons' Bob Gaudio knew that Jersey Boys would be a different as a movie than its ultra-successful theatrical version.
Bob Gaudio says he has no issue with Clint Eastwood directing a film where the drama was played up, and music somewhat de-emphasized. It was more important to him than an acclaimed filmmaker oversaw the project.
He went on to say, "Clint Eastwood is Clint...does his wonderful work. And we felt very comfortable going with him. So we left everything, pretty much across the board in his hands, as was the case with Des McAnuff. Listen, if he made it a strong film and the music's kinda on the secondary side, if the film works, that's great."
