Vintage performances by Tom Petty, The Hollies, Marvin Gaye, Jim Croce and dozens of other artists will appear on a deluxe 11-DVD collection culled from the Midnight Special TV series archives.

The Midnight Special Collector's Edition promises 5 hours of bonus footage and a 32-page book which covers the NBC TV series' entire 8-year run.  The live performances go from rockers like Peter Frampton and Aerosmith to disco from the likes of Donna Summer and Gloria Gaynor, along with pop favorites from artists like The Bee Gees and America.

The set will sell for $100 and will be officially released on September 8th.
