Looks like new music from Huey Lewis & The News is in the works.

They became one of the most successful radio-friendly acts of the 80's thanks to hits like "The Power of Love" and "The Heart of Rock and Roll."  That doesn't mean they're just another nostalgia act.

Promoting tonight's (Wednesday) show at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside, California, Huey tells the Press Enterprise newspaper that the group has been working on new material.

While they'll mix in at least one new song, Lewis is also a bit cautious, explaining, "It's hard to write new things for the obvious reasons.  You don't want to repeat yourself.  Everybody's got a couple of good stories, but I don't know that everybody's got a hundred."

The group is busy touring through mid-October, and Huey's not sure when they'll get a chance to record anything new.
