Paul Revere is retiring from performing. The self-proclaimed "Rock and Roll Madman," whose Raiders scored big hits with "Kicks," "Hungry" and their #1 hit "Indian Reservation" took a medical leave earlier this summer.
His band will now be billed as Paul Revere's Raiders, with Paul's son Jamie Revere in the lineup. Darren Dowler, who is been lead singer for a decade (taking Mark Lindsay's iconic spot) will continue in that role.
The group was long associated with the late Dick Clark, who first took notice of the group in 1963. Clark hired them as the house band on his mid 60's daytime TV show Where The Action Is.
According to Pollstar, Paul will remain involved as the band's "executive producer." Paul Revere's Raiders will release a new single "Still Hungry" (a reference to their 1966 hit) in October.
