Prince tops 'Top 200 Albums of the 80s' list

The alt-rock and indie music website Pitchfork took a deep dive into the past and had its staff of writers vote on the The 200 Best Albums of the 1980s.

The top two albums aren't that surprising, as they were critical and commercial smashes -- Prince and the Revolution's Purple Rain is number-one, with Thriller by Michael Jackson at number-two.

Other notable albums that made the Top 20 include Talking Heads' Remain in Light at number-five, Janet Jackson's Control at number-eight, Sade's Diamond Life at number-10, Madonna's self-titled debut at number-16 and Prince's Sign O' the Times at number-17.
