If you want to ponder your mortality, one cafe is the perfect place.
A cafe in Thailand is letting its customers reflect on the nature of life and death. After purchasing their beverages, each customer can be placed in a coffin at the Death Awareness Cafe in Bangkok.
The owner of the mortuary-inspired cafe says the concept was based on Buddhist philosophy around reflection and the evils of greed. He says when the coffin closes, patrons "realize eventually that they cannot take anything with them."
Wait… they close the coffin? How do you drink your beverage?
