Rock and Roll's top movie soundtracks

Earlier this year, the music site named its 50 Best Movie Soundtracks of All Time.The Top 5:

  1. Superfly (Curtis Mayfield)
  2. Purple Rain (Prince)
  3. Trainspotting (various)
  4. The Harder They Come (various)
  5. 2001: A Space Odyssey (various)

By comparison, in 2004 the British Broadcasting Company conducted a poll and came up with The Blues Brothers. Music in the action comedy was provided by stars John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd alongside Aretha FranklinRay Charles and Cab Calloway.

Pulp Fiction, whose soundtrack which included such classics as Al Green's "Let's Stay Together," Neil Diamond's "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon" and Kool and the Gang's "Jungle Boogie," came in second.

TrainspottingSaturday Night Fever and Dirty Dancing rounded out the Top 5.
