On Time: A Princely Life in Funk, a memoir by Morris Day of The Time -- including his lifelong friendship and collaboration with Prince -- is out this week. Veteran musical memoir collaborator David Ritz is credited as Day's co-author.
35 years ago, Day co-starred in Prince's movie Purple Rain. Next Wednesday, he'll sign his book and do a Q-and-A session prior to a screening of the film at the TLC Chinese Theater in Hollywood, where it had its premiere in 1984.
