Dionne Warwick says it's about time for Whitney Houston in Rock Hall

Dionne Warwick says "it's about time" that her late cousin Whitney Houston was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Actually, she says the recognition is overdue.

She says, "It's about time [chuckle] is all I can say. You know, she deserves it, she should have been there a long time ago and and it's part of her legacy."

As for her own credentials, the voice of three decades of classics -- from "Don't Make Me Over" through "That's What Friends Are For" -- takes a laid-back view of when and if she'll receive a call from the Hall.

Dionne Warwick is a believer in karma:

"You know, I'm a firm believer that things happen when they're supposed to. So that's when, and if it ever does, that's when it's supposed to happen."

Warwick's latest album, The Voices of Christmas, a collection of duets with such peers as Michael McDonald and Johnny Mathis, drops today.
