The A&E Biography episode on Kenny Rogers will make its debut tonight andit features clips from Kenny’s final interview.
The two-hour documentary features guest stars Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire and Lionel Richie -- who explains how he reshaped a song he was pitching to Kenny. "I had this song called ‘Baby’... I land in Vegas and all I prepared is the first verse, the way I would normally do it for The Commodores."
Rogers recalls discussing his recent marriage, telling Lionel about Marianne Gordon. "I married a lady, a real lady... A country boy like me from Houston, Texas, what I am doing with a lady…she’s got such taste, such class, such style and she’s such a lady." Soon, Lionel realized that Kenny had just renamed the new song: "Lady." (Rolling Stone)
