Rufus Wainwright has teamed up with Toronto-based group Choir! Choir! Choir! and about 1,500 other artists on a cover of the Beatles classic “Across the Universe.”
Wainwright had previously recorded a cover of The Beatles’ classic back in 2002, but now it has taken on new meaning for him.
“I have sung ‘Across the Universe’ for many years, but only now do I truly understand the chorus,” Rufus says. “It is really the universe that is singing ‘Nothing’s gonna change my world.’ It is a thrill to express this eternal fact with so many voices from all around the planet.”
