Elton John is ending 2020 on a pretty high note.Saturday he will be presented with the Global Citizen Artist of the Year Prize, which is given to artists who use their platform to promote and create positive change.
Elton is being recognized because of his work with his AIDS Foundation and his efforts to raise money to help those who’ve been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Global Citizen Prize Awards air Saturday at 7pm (Central) on NBC.
Despite the pandemic affecting Elton's Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, the superstar was still among the top money makers on Forbes' annual list of the world's highest-paid celebrities. The list is based on earnings from June 2019 through May of this year.
Elton landed at 14th on the list with a take of $81-million. By the way, Kylie Jenner topped the list with $590-million.
