Heart's Nancy Wilson honors Eddie Van Halen on her new album

Nancy Wilson will pay tribute to the late Eddie Van Halen on her debut solo album, You and Me with the song "For Edward."

Nancy was interviewed on Hawaii Public Radio and talked about the tribute song:

"When we were touring with those guys [Van Halen] in the '80s, he was, like, 'I like how you play that acoustic.' And I said, 'Well, why don't you play more acoustic?' And he goes, 'Well, I don't have an acoustic.' And so I went and got him one out of my stash and I gave it to him. Early the next morning he rang my room and he played for me this beautiful piece of acoustic guitar instrumental music. I was so touched, and it was so beautiful, it was one of the prettiest things I'd ever heard. So I tried to return the favor by making a beautiful little tribute to him."

Nancy also honors Bruce Springsteen with a cover his classic "The Rising." She honors Pearl Jam with "Daughter," and Nancy will cover the Simon & Garfunkel classic "The Boxer," and that cover will feature Sammy Hagar, whose late father Bobby was actually was a boxer.

You and Me will be released in March.
