The legendary Tom Jones is previewing a new song from his upcoming album, Surrounded by Time.
Contrary to what fans normally here from the music icon, Jones does more of a conversational narrative on top of a rhythm music track.That sounds like rapping, but that’s not really the case with this song.
The finished tune is actually a cover of Todd Snider's "Talking Reality Television Blues” from 2019.
The song’s lyrics lay out a history of the impact television has had on society—from TV’s early days with Milton Berle all the way through Donald Trump hosting The Apprentice.
