Paul McCartney letter on auction block

letter Paul McCartney once wrote back in the '80s to a woman in Wales is up for auction. In the letter, Pau apologizes for taking a blanket from a farmhouse in Wales.

The story begins in 1958, when McCartney and George Harrison hitchhiked and wound up staying at farmhouse owned by Irene Brierly in Wales. Heavy rain wound up forcing Paul and George to actually stay inside the house.

They became friends with the family and actually returned in 1959, and during that second visit, Paul left with a blanket .Decades later, Irene sent McCartney a letter reminding him of the blanket he left with.Paul made good on his debt and enclosed a check for 30 pounds in the note he wrote.

Now that letter is up for bids at Tracks.Co.UK. The minimum bid is slightly over $4,100.
