Elton John talks about getting into shape

Elton John has used his year off from live performances trying to get himself into better shape. The legendary icon appeared on soccer star Troy Deeney's podcast, and talked about being a Type 2 diabetic and a being a parent leading to more thought on food and exercise.

Elton said he’s probably the most fit he’s been "in a long, long time, and I feel great... There’s no point in moaning about it, no point in moaning about being overweight. You’ve got to do something about it."

Elton talked about going back on tour and made a promise about his weight and fitness:

"When I go back on tour, I'm going to be the fittest I've ever been. A lot of my shame comes from the way... the way I'll put on weight and stuff like that. It's been with me all my life and it's... I go up and down like the bloody yo yo. And I've really concentrated on that during lockdown. And, also I'm a semi-diabetic, I'm Type B diabetic. So I'll have to watch what I eat."[courtesy ot The Podcast Company]

Elton also talked about how his kids influenced his getting into better shape:

"It's all come down again to... what do you want for the rest of your life? I've got two kids I want to see... I want to be around as much as possible for... So, in that case, Elton, get yourself together, do what you're told and you'll see the benefits of it. And that's what I'm trying to do."[courtesy ot The Podcast Company]
