ZZ Top honored Dusty Hill as they resumed touring last Friday

ZZ Top kept their promise to late bassist Dusty Hill and resumed their tour last Friday night in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, just two days after he unexpectedly died in his sleep at the age of 72.

After opening with their classic "Got Me Under Pressure," Billy Gibbons said, "We’re gonna have a good time in here tonight. Got a new guy up here, as you know. Dusty gave me the directive. My friend, your pal, [the band's longtime guitar tech] Elwood Francis is gonna hold it down behind me.”

Hill’s funeral is tomorrow (Tuesday) in The Woodlands and will be a private ceremony. ZZ Top’s show scheduled for tomorrow night in North Little Rock, Arkansas was cancelled.

Dusty's last performance was July 18th in Louisville, Kentucky. His last song of the night was "Tush.”
