Genesis kicks off their final tour

Genesis have returned to the road for their first tour in 14 year. The tour was postponed twice because of the pandemic. ‘The Last Domino?kicked off in Birmingham, England on Monday.

Phil Collins was seated because of his various physical ailments, as he has been before. Phil said, “It’s been a long time coming. We know it’s been a difficult couple of years for everybody here, and those at home. But we finally made it, and we’re going to have some fun tonight.”

The rest of Genesis included Mike RutherfordTony Banks, guitarist Daryl Stuermer, Phil’s 20-year old son Nicholas Collins on drums, and back-up singers Daniel Pearce and Patrick Smyth.

The group played a 24-song set, including some abbreviated songs and medleys.

The show included Genesis classics like "Turn it on Again," "Land of Confusion," "Throwing it All Away," "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" and "Invisible Touch," along with four songs or parts of songs they haven’t played in concert in a while. Genesis hadn’t performed “That’s All’ in concert in 23 years.

The North American dates begin November 15th in Chicago and will include 21 shows through December 16th.Phil Collins has gone on record saying the band will more or less call it quits after their December 16th show.
