Mick Jagger is fondly remembering his friend and late bandmate Charlie Watts in a new interview. Mick said Charlie was “the rock” of The Rolling Stones.
In an interview with ‘Variety, Mick said losing Charlie has been “very, very hard.” The Stones will honor their late drummer on the “No Filter” tour, dedicating shows to Watts while giving their logo a painted black makeover in his memory. The band said Charlie would most certainly want The Rolling Stones to carry on without him.
Mick said, “He held the band together for so long, musically, because he was the rock the rest of it was built around.” He added, “It’s a huge loss to us all.”
