Eagles celebrate 45 years of 'Hotel California'

The Eagles released their iconic ‘Hotel California’ studio album, 45 years ago today on December 8th, 1976.

The title track won the Grammy for Record of the Year. In addition to the title track, the album also features this classics "New Kid in Town" and "Life in the Fast Lane.”

‘Hotel California’ was the final album to feature the band's original bassist, Randy Meisner, and the first album with Joe Walsh, who had replaced Bernie Leadon.

The late Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh reflected on the album in an interview:

GF: "I would say that Hotel California is the ultimate Eagles record. It's got a lot of what we all did good. That whole album seems to me is where our songwriting and our understanding of how to make records came together, and that was really our peak."

JW: "That probably is the high point of my career. That's a very special album anywhere you go."

The Eagles are set to resume their Hotel California anniversary tour on February 19th in Savannah, Georgia.
