Actor Howard Hesseman died Saturday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Los Angeles of complications following colon surgery. He was 81.
Hessemen is best remembered for his iconic role as Dr. Johnny Fever on the classic sitcom ‘WKRP in Cincinnati” about a group of disc jockeys and on-air staff of the fictional radio station. The series perfectly captured much of the real life behind the scenes goings on of a typical radio station at the time.
Hesseman also starred as a school teacher on the 80’s sitcom “Head of the Class,” which launched the acting career of Robin Givens. Howard received Emmy nominations in 1980 and 1981 for “WKRP.” (Deadline)
