Genesis officially brought their Last Domino? reunion tour to an end Saturday at the O2 Arena in London and Phil Collins made a big announcement.
After the third song, Collins said, “Tonight is a very special night. It’s the last stop of our tour. And it’s the last show for Genesis." This was followed by a standing ovation, which moved Collins who then said, "Yes, after tonight we’ve all got to get real jobs.”
Original Genesis singer Peter Gabriel was in the audience, but he didn't take the stage with the group. When the show ended, the band's backing musicians, which included Phil’s son Nick on drums, stepped aside so Phil, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford could take one final bow.
It’s truly the end of a decades long era with one of the most enduring bands of all time.
