Elton John's will dig into the archives with the release of a 50th anniversary edition of his fourth album, Madman Across the Water from 1971.
The release will be on June 10th. The album featured his classics "Tiny Dancer" and "Levon." It will be available in four formats including a super deluxe box set with 18 previously unreleased tracks, Blu-ray disc, along with a vinyl box set and booklet, a 2-CD set and single vinyl limited edition remaster in blue and white colored vinyl.
Madman Across the Water was mostly written after Elton had made his first visit to America
It was also the first album to feature all five members of Elton's classic band -- Dee Murray, Nigel Olsson, Davey Johnstone and Ray Cooper. Nigel and Davey are still playing in the band. Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman plays Hammond organ on three of the songs.
Rarities include a piano demo of "Tiny Dancer,” "Levon" along with the album’s title track.
