Neil Young is returning with Promise of the Real releasing a live album and concert film coming up on August 5th.
Details about Noise and Flowers, which documents Neil’s 2019 European tour with Promise of the Real, were first revealed in September 2020.
Young talked about the short European tour during which Noise and Flowers was recorded. It all started one week after the death of Neil’s manager, Elliot Roberts.
He said, “[My wife, Daryl Hannah] and I were on the bus, on our way to New York to catch a plane to Europe, when we got the call... After returning to the funeral for our beloved Elliot, we got on the plane and left for the tour. During the tour, we had a poster of Elliot on a road case, right where he always stood during our shows. Everyone who was with us felt that this tour was amazing for its great vibe. The Real and I delivered for Elliot.”
The album will be released on CD or two-LPs. The film will be released on Blu-Ray or as part of a deluxe box set. A performance of "From Hank to Hendrix" from the film has just been posted on YouTube.
