Chaka Khan has a beef with Kanye West. The soul legend let him sample “Through the Fire” for his 2003 hit “Through the Wire,” but had no idea what he planned to do.
Chaka recently said, “[Kanye] didn’t mention that he was gonna speed it up, you know, three times its normal speed.”
She was unhappy with the sped up sound. Chaka went on to say she learned her leasson that day, saying, “Had he [told her the plan], I would’ve had something to say. But since I didn’t think of that, believe me, I think of it now. I ask, ‘How are we gonna do this?’”
For the record, Chaka indicated that she and Kanye have not discussed the situation.
