Paul Simon is hard at work

Paul Simon is apparently working on new music, according to cabaret singer Barbara Fasano. Simon is said to be hard at work in his Reservoir Studio in New York.

Farsano posted on Facebook that she was recording a cover version of the Simon & Garfunkel classic “Old Friends” when she found out the 80-year-old singer-songwriter was also recording in the studio. She introduced herself to Simon and said his “face lit up and he was on his feet” when he found out they were about to record his song.

Farsano wrote, “Everyone got introduced and Paul Simon pulled out his guitar and coached us on voicings and instrumentation.” She called it “a crazy surreal moment.”

Simon had previously said he was working on new music in an audiobook conversation with Malcolm Gladwell. The album, tentatively called “The Seven Palms,” doesn’t have a release date as of yet.
