Steven Tyler once turned down performing with Led Zeppelin

Back in 2008, Steven Tyler spent a week playing with Jimmy Page when Jimmy was thinking about playing shows without Led Zeppelin lead singer Robert Plant. Tyler recently opened up about the experience. What happened after the week of playing with Jimmy Page? According to Tyler, he was then asked to play with them as “an audition to play with Zeppelin. We were going to do a couple of stadiums.”

Steven also said Page mentioned doing an album with Tyler, who says he thought about it for “a couple days” before telling Page no. He added, “So, was I going to be in Jimmy’s band? No. But what an honor.”

Steven Tyler commented on the unusual instrument he played on the Aerosmith classic “Rag Doll” that we just played: [AUDIO]
