David Bowie archives are opening again

A new David Bowie box set covering the 12-month period just before the release of his album ‘Hunky Dory’ in 1971 is on the way.

A Divine Symmetry will be released on November 25th. It features 48 previously unreleased songs from that era and will available on four CDs and one Blu-Ray. It’ll feature Bowie's home demos, BBC radio sessions and live and studio recordings and new alternate mixes of Hunky Dory tracks by original co-producer Ken Scott.

The box set will also come with two books:  a 100-page hardback book with exclusive memorabilia and photos along with a 60-page replica of Bowie's notebooks with handwritten lyrics, costume drawings, recording notes and set lists.

The first song released from the set is a version of "Kooks" recorded for BBC’s Sounds Of The 70s presented by Bob Harris. It’s available to watch now on YouTube.

Coming up on February 23rd a single LP version called A Divine Symmetry will be out. It features alternate versions of every song on Hunky Dory.
