Stewart Copeland opens the vault

Stewart Copeland has come up with even material about The Police from his archives.

Copeland is working on a book called Stewart Copeland’s Police Diaries (aka the Starving Years) that uses copies of his diaries from 1976 to 1979, along with handmade poster designs and previously unpublished photos to chronicle how the band came together. It's expected to be released later this year.

To generate pre-orders for the book, Copeland has released an old demo of one of his songs, "Clown's Revenge."  The Police played the song at several of early gigs but never recorded.

Fans can check it out on YouTube.
