Andrew Ridgeley said he regrets that Wham! never did a farewell tour, deciding instead to do one last show, The Final, at London’s Wembley Stadium, on June 28th, 1986.
Ridgeley told the BBC, “I would have liked to tour The Final to be honest. I felt a final tour to say goodbye to our fans around the world would have been a generous gesture. I felt it was a courtesy to them to have done that. The least we could have done, to be honest with you. But I also understood [George Michael’s] essential ideology behind having just one show.”
George Michael passed away on December 25th, 2016 at age 53.
The Wham! documentary premieres on Netflix next week on Wednesday, July 5th.
