The Stones' 'Gimme Shelter' gets a new video

The Rolling Stones' hits collection ‘Forty Licks’ was reissued this week, and now there’s an all-new video for their 1969 classic "Gimme Shelter."

The video features scenes that were inspired by the album cover for ‘Let It Bleed.’ The video is now up on YouTubeKeith Richards commented about writing “Gimme Shelter.” He said, “It was pretty much written, it just came out, ‘A storm is threatening my very life today.’ I had the sequence and the first couple of verses and this is one of those periods where everything was, y’know, I was trying to sort of patch it all together and Mick was doing two things at once and he polished it off and finished it off.”

Forty Licks will be released digitally for the very first time today followed this Friday by a limited-edition 4-disc, 180-gram black vinyl set contained in a wide spine gatefold sleeve.
