Ringo Starr EP on the way

Ringo Starr is keeping his recent promise of recording only EPs and he has announced the release of his fourth in three years, ‘Rewind Forward.’

Rewind Forward contains four songs, and will be released digitally, on CD, 10-inch vinyl and cassette on October 13th. The title track will be available to stream or purchase beginning Friday.

The other three songs featured are "Shadows on the Wall," "Feeling the Sunlight" and "Miss Jean."

Ringo said, “'Rewind Forward' was something I said out of the blue -- it's just one of those lines like 'A Hard Days Night.' It just came to me. But it doesn’t really make sense. I was trying to explain it to myself and the best I can tell you about what it means is: Sometimes when you want to go forward you have to go back first.”

Rewind Forward features several guests, including his brother-in-law Joe Walsh, plus longtime All Starr Band member Steve Lukather and Toto bandmate Joe Williams who wrote the opening song “Shadows on the Wall”; Paul McCartney, who wrote “Feeling the Sunlight”; and former All Starr Band member Ian Hunter, Heartbreakers Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell on "Miss You," which Campbell wrote.

All songs were recorded at Ringo’s home studio in Los Angeles with the exception of McCartney's “Feeling the Sunlight,” which was largely recorded in England.
