U2 turning to their fans for help

U2 is launching a new broadcast channel on Instagram this month, and they want fans to help them choose a name for it. The Irish rock legends announced the news on their website, saying they want to share exclusive content with their followers in a more intimate way.

A broadcast channel on Instagram is a feature that allows an account holder to send messages to their fans, such as announcements, behind-the-scenes content, event details, or upcoming collaborations. The messages appear in the fans' Instagram Direct inbox and can be viewed at any time.

U2 is asking their fans to comment on their website post with their name suggestions for the channel, and to be as creative and witty as possible. "Puns are welcome!" they added. The band also offered some examples of pun-filled names, such as "You, Too," "Zoo Stationary," "Spherical," and "Have You Seen My Keys."

The band will select their favorite four suggestions and run a poll on their Instagram Stories, where fans can vote for the winner. The name of the channel will be revealed on January 26th, when U2 returns to Las Vegas for the next 15 shows of their U2: UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere residency. The show, which features a 360-degree immersive sound and video experience, is set to run until March 2nd.
