Robert Plant and Alison Krauss set to hit the road this spring

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss are back on the road for another round of shows this spring and summer. ‘The Can't Let Go’ tour, named after one of the songs from their latest album, ‘Raise the Roof,’ will kick off on June 2nd in Tulsa, Oklahoma and conclude on September 1st in Vail, Colorado. The tour will feature songs from both their collaborative albums and some of their solo and classic hits.

Plant and Krauss first teamed up in 2007 for the Grammy-winning album Raising Sand, which blended their distinctive voices and styles in a captivating mix of folk, rock, country, and blues. The album was a critical and commercial success, selling over three million copies worldwide and earning six Grammy awards, including Album of the Year. The pair toured extensively to support the album but did not release a follow-up until 2021, when they surprised fans with Raise the Roof, a collection of 12 covers showing their musical chemistry and versatility.

Since their last tour in 2022, Alison has been busy recording new material, while Plant, who occasionally does shows with his band, Saving Grace, has been digging through his archives and working on new songs. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Plant revealed that he has been using a Tascam digital recorder and a guitar pedal to create demos, and that he is "getting excited" about some of the songs he's never released nor finished. He also admitted that he is struggling to find words in this "very difficult time to try and wax lyrical out there."

Plant, who turned 75 in August, also said that he has no plans to retire from touring, as he enjoys the camaraderie and the challenge of performing live. He dismissed the idea of writing a memoir, saying that he prefers to live in the present rather than dwell on the past. He added that he will keep going "as long as they've got effects machines that make me sound good", joking that it worked for Elvis Presley

Both Plant and Alison also hinted that they would be open to recording a third album together, saying they have many songs they want to explore. They praised each other's talents and influences and said that they have a special bond that transcends genres and generations.
