Rod Stewart is not ready to retire from making music, and he has a special project in mind: a new album with his old bandmates from the Faces, including Ron Wood.
The legendary singer and songwriter recently spoke to Vulture about his career, his influences, and his unreleased songs. He said that he has a lot of songs that he has written but never put out, and that he considers them as his children. "I gave birth to them and then I put them out there in the world and see how they do," he said.
He also shared that he has sent some of these songs to Wood, who is currently a member of The Rolling Stones, and suggested that they could record them with the Faces. The Faces were formed in 1969 and featured Stewart, Wood, Ian McLagan, Ronnie Lane, and Kenney Jones. They released four albums and had hits such as "Stay with Me" and "Ooh La La" before disbanding in 1975.
Stewart said that he and Wood are still trying to make the album happen, but they face some challenges. "We’re still struggling to make this album. We’ll see. Some of them might see the light of day," he said.
Stewart also revealed that he is working on a new solo album, which will be his 31st studio album. He said that he is inspired by artists such as Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, and Tom Waits, and that he likes to experiment with different genres and styles.
