Peter Frampton reacts to Rock Hall nod

Peter Frampton, who celebrated his 74th birthday this month, received a gift that was decades in the making. Before celebrating with family, he shared his elation over a Zoom call about his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. "It's been very exciting," Frampton expressed, acknowledging the long wait since becoming eligible in 1997, 25 years after his debut album "Wind of Change." The honor took him by surprise, likening it to his unexpected Grammy win years ago.

The first to hear the news was fellow musician and neighbor Sheryl Crow, who herself was inducted the previous year and had invited Frampton to perform alongside her at the 2023 ceremony. Crow, who attended Frampton's concert at 14, had long questioned his absence from the Hall.

Frampton's humility was apparent as he spoke of the honor just being invited to play at the Rock Hall ceremony, emphasizing his gratitude for every accolade received. Despite finishing second in the Fan Vote, the announcement has caused an outpouring of congratulations, notably from Glyn Johns, who worked with Frampton's band The Preachers when he was just 13.

Joining Frampton in the Class of 2024 are icons Ozzy Osbourne, Cher, Mary J. Blige, A Tribe Called Quest and Kool & the Gang
