Ringo's going country

Ringo Starr is making a much-anticipated return to the music scene. Back in February, it was reported Ringo has been working on a new album. A longtime fan of country music (he covered Buck Owens’ “Act Naturally” with The Beatles in 1965), Ringo also released a country-inspired collection in 1970 with his second album, "Beaucoups of Blues." Now, 54 years later, he's revisiting his country roots for a new project.

In an interview with ‘USA Today,’ Ringo revealed that he’s collaborating with the renowned musician and producer T Bone Burnett on the album. Burnett, known for his work in Nashville, has been splitting his time between Nashville and Los Angeles to work on this project. Starr shared, "He came to me with nine songs. It won’t be out until October, at least.”

Ringo expressed his excitement about the upcoming album, saying, "You know what's happening, I was gonna do a country EP, but as things are unfolding, it's probably gonna be like a real CD -- 10 tracks. Can you believe it? I haven't done one of them in a long time." Ringo Starr will be hitting the road with his All Star Band, starting May 22nd in Las Vegas.
