Sammy Hagar was a little nervous at Rock Hall on Saturday

Sammy Hagar, long known for his confident stage presence, found himself a bit unnerved during rehearsals for last Saturday’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Hagar, who inducted Foreigner, performed “Hot Blooded” alongside current Foreigner singer Kelly Hansen. The rehearsal was a little intense with original Foreigner singer Lou Gramm on one side and Kelly Clarkson, who performed “I Want to Know What Love Is,” on the other.

During a run-through of “Hot Blooded,” Hagar experienced a moment of self-doubt when Gramm pointed out he was off-beat by tapping his foot. Hagar says he felt the pressure of performing in front of one of rock’s greatest vocalists. Reflecting on their conversation, Sammy noted the similarities in their singing styles and the challenges they both face as they age, having pushed their vocal limits in their younger years.

Hagar, who turned 77 on October 13th, and Gramm, who celebrated his 74th birthday on May 2nd, shared a mutual respect for each other’s talents. The ceremony will be condensed into three-hour highlights show airing on ABC on New Year’s Day.
