Fleetwood Mac documentary on the way

Fleetwood Mac fans have something exciting to look forward to, even if the band isn’t reuniting for new music or live shows. The iconic group is the subject of a “fully authorized” documentary, currently in the works. Directed by Frank Marshall, known for his acclaimed documentaries on The Bee Gees and The Beach Boys, this film will take a deep dive into Mac’s storied history. The documentary will be available for streaming on Apple, though its release date has yet to be announced.

Frank Marshall expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “I am fascinated by how this incredible story of enormous musical achievement came about.”  He noted the band’s ability to intertwine their often chaotic and operatic personal lives with their music, creating a unique narrative. The film aims to capture both the music and the personal stories of the band members, offering a comprehensive look at their legacy.

The documentary will focus on Fleetwood Mac’s most successful era, beginning in 1974 when Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined the band. It will explore how the band’s personal challenges, resilience, and musical talent combined to produce timeless rock ‘n roll masterpieces.
