Kim Wilde's return to the music scene is a big story that began at a village festival in her native England. She appeared on the White Wine Question Time podcast and revealed that the organizers initially asked her to sing ABBA songs. However, once she arrived, they requested her iconic hit "Kids in America."
Despite her initial reluctance, the crowd's enthusiastic reaction reignited her passion for performing. Wilde fondly credits the village for her comeback, saying, "So the village takes credit for getting me back on stage, which I rather love." Last month, Wilde released a new single titled "Midnight Train," giving her fans a taste of what's to come with her upcoming album, Closer, set to drop next month.
During her hiatus from the music industry, Wilde explored another passion: gardening. She authored two books, Gardening with Children (2005) and The First Time Gardener (2006), and even won an award for her courtyard garden at the Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower Show in 2005.
