Paul Simon is back on the road, despite his 2018 farewell tour. Fresh off his performance on Saturday Night Live's 50th anniversary special, Simon is launching ‘A Quiet Celebration Tour.’ This tour will see him performing multiple nights in 18 cities, including Austin on April 8th, 10th and 11th, with additional one-off shows in two others. Fans can look forward to hearing his latest album, Seven Psalms (2023), performed in its entirety, along with many of his classic hits. Joining him on stage will be his wife, Edie Brickell.
During the making of Seven Psalms, Simon began to lose hearing in his left ear, initially making extended live performances impossible. However, with the help of the Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss and his production team, Simon redesigned his stage setup to make performing viable again. This included moving monitors to surround him, ensuring he could continue to share his music with fans.
Simon will be backed by a nine-piece band. Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday, February 21st, at 10am local time.
