Stevie and Lindsey are talking again

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham are talking again—yes, really! Stevie spilled the news on the Song Exploder podcast while revisiting “Frozen Love,” the only song they co-wrote for their 1973 Buckingham Nicks album. That track famously caught Mick Fleetwood’s attention and led to their Fleetwood Mac debut. Stevie said she and Lindsey had just talked about their first meeting back in 1966, adding, “It seems like yesterday to us.”

Their renewed connection isn’t brand new—the Buckingham Nicks album was re-released last month, which clearly required some collaboration. But rewind to 2018, and things were messy. Stevie told Mick she was quitting the band after a rough moment with Lindsey at MusiCares. Lindsey later claimed she wanted him fired to escape competing with him onstage, but Stevie clapped back, saying, “I fired myself.” She called their dynamic toxic and hinted a memoir might someday spill all the details.

Even Irving Azoff, Fleetwood Mac’s manager who actually fired Lindsey, backed Stevie’s version of events. Lindsey, meanwhile, suggested Stevie had lost her spark and was “lonely.” The band wrapped one final tour with Mike Campbell and Neil Finn filling in, but Stevie’s made it clear: Fleetwood Mac ended when Christine McVie passed in 2022. Reunion? Don’t count on it.
