Elton John talks differences between 'Rocketman' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody'

Elton John insists there’s a big difference between his bio-pic “Rocketman” and Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” according to Variety.

Elton says, “Ours tells the truth — even though it’s a fantasy,” Elton tells “Variety.” “My life can’t be sugarcoated, and I didn’t want it to be.”

Elton is referring to some criticism “Bohemian Rhapsody” got for dramatizing real events to fit the story, and in some cases they were accused of even making things up.

But to clarify, Elton isn’t saying the Queen film was bad. “’Bohemian Rhapsody’ was a film for everyone, and it worked brilliantly,” he notes. “It brought the great music of Freddie Mercury to a whole bunch of people who would have never heard of him. I’m thrilled for the guys [in Queen].”
