ELTON JOHN: Super Bowl bound this weekend?
The rumor mill is ripe with reports that Elton John will be Lady Gaga's special guest when she plays the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday in Houston. The story has him joining her in a tribute to David Bowie.
Elton's spokeswoman is unavailable for comment, but outside of a Bowie tribute more than a year after his death, it's not so far fetched. Elton lives in Atlanta, and the Falcons are in the big game. He's also good friends with New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft. And Lady Gaga is the godmother to Elton's second child, Elijah.
LEON RUSSELL: Final recording out this spring
The late Leon Russell makes his final appearance singing backup on the title track from Willie Nelson's upcoming album.
"God's Problem Child" was co-written by Tony Joe White of "Polk Salad Annie" and "Rainy Night in Georgia" fame.
The two were longtime friends and recorded together on several occasions. Leon was the first person to sign Willie's ubiquitous guitar, Trigger.
Due April 28th, God's Problem Child also features seven songs co-written by the country music outlaw. (Vintage Vinyl News)
