A new study by Deakin University links poor dental health to depression. The research, reported by Medical Xpress, is based on a health survey of more than 10,000 Americans.
Almost 61 percent of those surveyed who reported depression also claimed to have suffered from an aching mouth within the past 12 months.
Deakin's Adrienne O'Neil, M.D. says if poor dental health is a risk factor for depression, this may have implications for depression management, as well as depression prevention from a public health perspective.
So brush those teeth and stay happy!
