JEFFERSON STARSHIP:  Time to retire the iconic name?

Craig Chaquico has an issue with the current touring version of Jefferson Starship.

According to TMZ, the lead guitarist on such classic tunes as "Miracles," "Count on Me" and "We Built This City" believes the name should have been retired with the death last year of Paul Kantner.

He claims the founders of the band -- which grew from the remnants of '60s progressive rockers Jefferson Airplane -- agreed to do just that when they broke up in 1985. But David Freiburg, who joined the Airplane in 1972, and Donny Baldwin, a member since the early '80s, now lead a tour outfit that performs the classics of the Kantner-Grace Slick-Marty Balin era.
