JANIS JOPLIN: Lawsuit holding back production movie is tossed out
A California judge has thrown out a lawsuit that's been holding up a Janis Joplin bio-pic that's been in the works for the better part of a decade.
The creative team behind Get It While You Can has been battling in court for years, with producers suing screenplay writer Ron Terry, who filed a counter-suit saying they were basically killing the project through bad publicity. Judge Nancy Newman dismissed the producers' suit after the company reps failed to show up for a court date in late April.
Back in 2010, Amy Adams was on board to star as Janis, but she dropped out years ago, so they'll need to start over for a relaunch. (Variety)
