Big 95 Music News: INXS, Whitney Houston

INXS:  Kick album turns 30 this year

INXS will release a 30th anniversary edition of Kick on November 24th.

The three-CD and Blu-ray set has a remastered version of the original album, a disc of demos and B-sides, and one of remixes. The Blu-ray has the album mixed in Dolby Atmos by producers Giles Martin and Sam Okell at Abbey Road Studios, along with all videos released for the album. There's also a new two-record version of the album that plays at 45-RPM.

Kick was INXS's biggest album in the U.S., with more than six-million copies sold. It was released in the U.S. on October 20th, 1987 and spawned four Top 10 hits -- "Need You Tonight," "Devil Inside," "New Sensation" and "Never Tear Us Apart."

WHITNEY HOUSTON:  Expanded edition of The Bodyguard  soundtrack on the way

A special collection of Whitney Houston live and studio recordings headline the 25th anniversary celebration for her film The Bodyguard.

On November 17th, the album Whitney Houston - I Wish You Love: More From The Bodyguard hits stores. It features previously unreleased or unavailable tracks, including never-before-released live recordings from Whitney's historic The Bodyguard tour (1993-1995). There are also alternate audio versions of songs from the film, plus alternate remix of "I'm Every Woman." In addition to the CD and digital editions, a two-LP vinyl set -- pressed in purple -- will be released at a later date.

The movie will be released digitally -- with additional feature material -- on October 31st.

The renowned Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel -- where some of the movie was shot -- will host is a listening party and movie screening on November 4th -- with tickets to the event being given away on the Whitney Houston website.

MORE BIG 95 MUSIC NEWS HEADLINES:  October 13th

Modern English, who released its first new album in 30 years, Take Me to the Trees, earlier this year, will headline a U.S. tour in November. It kicks off on the 1st in St. Paul and ends on the 22nd in Brooklyn.

Lionel Richie has been added to the October 25th all-star salute to Kenny Rogers at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Richie wrote Rogers' pop-country crossover "Lady."

A re-sung version of The Archies' "Sugar Sugar" is the TV commercial jingle for Canada's Pizza Pizza chain, which is marking its 50th anniversary.

Let's Play Two, the Pearl Jam documentary about performing at Chicago's Wrigley Field, will have its TV premiere on FS1 after game one of the ALCS between the New York Yankees and Houston Astros.

Felix Cavaliere will try something new next year. The New Jersey Herald says The Rascals co-founder will perform with the Nashville Symphony in June.
