FOREIGNER: 2018 is one big year
BIG 95 KBGO welcomes Foreigner's "Juke Box Heroes" tour with special guest Whitesnake and Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening to Toyota Music Factory in Irving on July 21st. The band is still going strong more than four decades after their first hit.
2018 is shaping up to be a big year, including a reunion of the band's original members.
Foreigner recently announced what former member Ian McDonald said would happen -- a reunion show of the original line-up on August 4th at The Sturgis Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, South Dakota.
McDonald, Lou Gramm, Dennis Elliott, Al Greenwood and Rick Wills will join Mick Jones and the current members of the band as they did for a few shows on last year's 40th anniversary tour.
Jones says, “It’s been incredible to have Lou, Dennis, Al, Ian and Rick join us for some surprise appearances throughout the past few years. It always brings back special memories. But now, for the first time, we are letting our fans know we’ll be making history together at The Buffalo Chip on August 4th with a Foreigner reunion concert, and we hope they’ll come on down to Sturgis and join us!“
Elliott says Jones invited him and Greenwood to join them on stage this Friday night at Jones Beach on Long Island, New York. Elliott tells us he and Al are "talking about whether we're going to be able to do that."
Ian McDonald says recent Foreigner reunions have gone well. OC: ...works out pretty well. :16 [Phone Quality]
"When we did do a couple of shows, everything was very cordial and everyone was on their best behavior, you know? in that sense, we got along fine. It was a fun thing to do, actually. I'm not in constant contact with Mick, but whenever we do these shows, it works out pretty well."
